Anders:

This superb article should serve to remind all who claim to value individual responsibility, the rights necessary for its exercise, and the political freedom that logically flows therefrom, of what it means to do so! I have little doubt that numbers “2” and “3” to follow will further remind me of same.

As you likely understand, while I voted for Trump, I harbor no illusions about what I voted against nor what I may potentially “get” with Trump at the helm of the ship-of-State!

My good friend and author, Robert Gore, has penned a piece on his site, “behindtheblack.com” in which he speculates on the “reality” of both Trump and that which he is now the titular “head”-of. I tried to include it in this response, but the software indicated that it was too long. I shall send it in a separate email. I think you will find it of interest. I suspect you will disagree with little.

Again, superb piece!

Dave

Any chance the most unprincipled, anti-intellectual narcissist-in-chief will do ANY of this?

Probability low that he will do any of this, but the man may reconsider if the economy sputters because of the tariffs and probable failure of DOGE to deregulate, inflation ticks up because of money printing due to the refusal to deal with the budget deficit, and interest rates remain stubbornly high because of said inflation and budget deficit. Because he probably doesn't want to go down in history as the biggest dud occupying the WH.

He’ll blame all his failures on everyone and everything other than himself. He’s a master at the art of victimhood.

I wish there was even the remotest possibility he would do any of this. My expectations are more along the lines of doing pretty much the opposite of everything you've listed here. As always, though, I love your optimism. (and you did choose the right tactic by appealing to his vanity - that does appear to be the one thing that does motivate him).
